2010 Agency Summit Report Released
The report of the work accomplished at the April 2010 "Waves of Change" Agency Summit is now available.  The report summarizes the two day event by outlining the actions necessary to recreate and reposition the parks and recreation profession in Florida.  Over 90 parks and recreation leaders representing over 47 agencies participated in the event, along with several corporate partners.  The dialogue was the first of its kind for FRPA, and the product will provide a blueprint for the profession going forward into a solution minded position within communities across the State.

FRPA Lobbyist Delivers Remarks at 2010 Great Park Summit

Governor Crist Proclaims July is Parks and Recreation Month

Governor Charlie Crist signed a proclamation May 18, 2010 proclaiming "July 2010 Parks and Recreation Month".  To download the proclamation, click here.

The Marketing Committee of FRPA has worked diligently to create an Implementation Kit for the month complete with sample resolutions and ideas for events to celebrate the month, It Starts in Parks style.  Download the handbook and begin planning for a month of celebration.

Venture down into the deep blue sea as you dance the night away with the rockin’ Caribbean tunes of a Blue Stone Circle, house band at Margaritaville in Universal Studios City Walk.  Ballooning has become an art form.  A local balloon artist will be on hand to make wacky, custom creations just for you!  Everyone will get in the action with FRPA’s Quest, a hilarious “Let’s Make A Deal” style game / adult scavenger hunt that’s out of this world! Be ready for laughs while you earn points for the Region Games.  Come all ye Parrotheads and Beach Boy bums, let’s party!
