Welcome to FRPA and the Southwest Region. My name is Kathy Cahill and I am excited to serve as your 2009-2011 Region Director.
FRPA means so much to what we do as Parks and Recreation professionals and its membership is essential to any leader in our field. The Southwest Region board has worked diligently to organize three economical region meetings this year that will provide opportunities for networking, professional development, CEUs and top-notch keynote speakers. Be sure to check the FRPA Calendar on the website for meeting dates and locations - you won't want to miss them!
“You must get involved to have an impact. No one is impressed with the won-lost record of the referee.” – Napoleon Hill, American author (1883-1970), leader of genre of personal-success literature.
The opportunities to get involved and gain experience with FRPA are numerous. Whether serving as a board leader or assisting with region meetings, you can make a valuable contribution to our profession. To find about more about how you can be involved, please contact me or any of our outstanding board members.
We all are being asked to do more with less at our agencies and organizations, and we all are searching for “new normal”. Do something for yourself and get connected with other professionals from around the state. Set up a professional profile on www.linkedin.com and join the FRPA group. Stay up on current discussions and learn from other professionals going through similar circumstances. FRPA’s best asset is our members; please take some time to dial in to the opportunities.
Whether you are a young professional, new to FPRA, retired or an active citizen, the Southwest Region and I would like to welcome you and let you know that you are important to us.
