The Southeast Region of the Florida Recreation and Park Association is comprised of Okeechobee, Broward, St. Lucie, Dade, Martin, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties.
Message from the Region Director
FRPA is many things to many people. The advocacy efforts of FRPA to continually act in the best interest of the profession in relation to legislative action have benefitted all professionals. Personally for me, FRPA has provided me a platform to learn countless amounts of information to improve myself in my profession, it has also provided me with many network contacts that I can call upon any time I have a question or a problem, and it has blessed me by allowing me to meet many professionals that I now consider good friends.
As the parks and recreation profession struggles with the ramifications of the property tax reform in the state, the needs of the parks and recreation professional are more visible than ever. It is the goal of the Southeast Region to meet the needs of your membership.
The professionals serving on the Region Board have been working diligently planning a wonderful calendar of events for the year. This year, we will present three meetings throughout the region that will feature educational and networking opportunities. There will also be additional networking opportunities and fundraising events that will help in your professional development and also will provide funding for scholarships.
FRPA is an association that is propelled by its members, so the call goes out to you. Do not hesitate to give me a call if you are interested in assisting in region events. Your involvement in region events and the association as a whole will not only benefit you, but also the profession. Look forward to seeing you at our events. Don’t hesitate to come up and say hello!
